The start of spring also starts a busy time for the FFA.
The Colton Agricultural Mechanics team has been busy participating in the Colfax/ Lacrosse Ag Mech contest and the District Six Ag Mechanics contest placing 4th in both. Members participating in this contest are Matt Becker, Tim Tilton, Dustin Devorak, Zach Devorak and Joe Faerber. Tim Tilton Placed first overall in the District Ag Mech CDE. We will be competing in the State Ag Mechanics CDE later in April at Walla Walla Community College.
Erin Weber place 3rd in Extemporaneous Public Speaking and the Colton FFA Rituals team placed 4th at Sub Districts in Asotin and have qualified to compete at the District Contest in Colfax. Team members include Haley Meyer, Kamryn Nuttman, Phil Niehenke, Courtney Kimberling, Lane Moore and Carrie Hennigar.
Chapter Members Erin Weber, Taylor Nilson, Joe Faerber, Samra Meyer and Lane Moore have competed in Livestock Judging Contests placing 3rd in the JR Ranch Judging contest in Othello and 5th in the Davenport Bull Judging contest.
Many members are also busy preparing their animals for the Colton Fair and Junior Livestock Show of Spokane. Members have also been busy selling advertisements for the Colton Fair. Thank you to all the supporters of our fair and the youth of our area. |
